Two Hangover Coffee Recipes that Work!

We’ve got two hangover recipes for you, because sometimes we imbibe in higher quantities than we should have. They’re well tested recipes that we are happy to share. Give them a shot, drink lots of water and put the toothpicks away. You won’t need them to hold your eyes open.

Coffee & Lemon Elixir

Lemon filters out toxins and helps process nutrients because lemon juice has a similar structure to the body’s digestive juices, which make it a powerful liver cleanser.  After a night of alcohol consumption, Lemon will give your liver the boost it needs.

Coffee contains lots of antioxidants, which the body seems to absorb extremely well, and contributes to the “pick me up” up you need to get your body moving.

½ tbsp of organic finely ground coffee
2 tbsp of fresh lemon juice
That’s it!

Mix this coffee bean and lemon juice elixir with a spoon until the texture is like a puree. Add a bit more lemon juice if it remains too thick. As an alternative, you can mix 8oz of strong organic coffee with 2-3 tbsp of fresh lemon juice.

Coffee Banana Breakfast Smoothie

Bananas are gentle on the stomach and good for keeping up your blood sugar. Bananas contain a lot of potassium, which is lost when we drink alcohol and a lack of which contributes to the dehydration symptoms of a hangover. potassium aids in the task of digesting all that alcohol.

Honey aids the body to quickly break down the alcohol you consumed (and are most likely regretting when your head is pounding the next day). Because of Honeys’ strong antioxidant properties, it neutralizes the toxins created by consuming alcohol.


1 banana
1 cup of coffee
 2 to 3 teaspoons of honey
½ cup of almond milk or coconut milk (optional)
fresh ice


Add all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
Pour in glass and enjoy
